Today was a busy but good day. We got a huge burden off my back and I think this is probably one of the best decisions we have made since starting this business. We hired 2 people to start cold calling companies. Avigaile and Kathy started today and hit it hard. I’m so thankful to have them on the team as it is a huge stress relief for me.
Started the morning on no sleep and trying to piece together somewhat of an orientation. The two new employees had to bear a disorganized orientation and overview of the job. The were great though. You can tell with their previous experience that this wasn’t a huge challenge for them to pivot their skills into a new niche. After a 1.5 hour chit chat, they were off to the races. Well, after about 30 more minutes of waiting on me, they were off to the races. I had to set them up email addresses, logins for the phone system and more formally write our script we had been using down so they had some guidelines.
Well, about 6-6.5 hours of calling, the girls knocked out about 120 calls. I feel like thats 10x compared to what we realistically did as owners of the company. I would love to give myself some slack but honestly I probably could have done better at it. So out of the 120, we have one guy who is signing up and a bunch of follow ups. I’d call that a success.
Scott from the SEO company needed a bunch of information. Needed all of our social media profiles, bios, and all sorts of stuff. This is the point I felt like an old man. Having grown up with the internet and using it daily, I realize I haven’t kept up with the times. Neither have my partners. We are all “old”. Half of the major social profiles we didn’t have. 2 out of 4 didn’t have LInked In profiles and one that did was basically blank. Man…we are old 😢
