Oct 17, 2024 – Another Appointment! Same Guy

Well, like the title says, we had our third appointment. The “real” (non me) appointment was set by the same guy as yesterday. I think thats a good sign. Had a couple discussions with providers today, working on some Facebook stuff… Overall a good day.

So the day started off with a developer meeting. If you’re keeping track, today is Thursday which is an odd day for us. We normally meet Monday and Wednesday but my project manager was out yesterday. We had a lot to cover but super productive and found some improvements which is great. They also made a smart decision a while back while building the reminders app. I originally wanted to run it locally on your phone and they agreed initially. Somewhere along the way they had some smarts not to listen to me and decided to build it 100% server based. This is good because now someone can get a new phone and not lose everything.

We decided to add a couple more features to the reminders app. We are adding warranties and paint colors. Very exciting. Warranty info is such a hassle and I have never met someone that has a clue if something is still under warranty or not. We are gonna fix that. Also, I know this has happened to me a couple of time, but I can’t ever remember paint colors. Its complicated. We bought Sherwin Williams paint that was a custom match Benjamin Moore color. Well, the app can remember that and you are going to be able to upload a paint can lid mix photo. Something simple but super useful.

Had a great conversation with a plumbing company on the South end of the metroplex. Super nice gal who really seemed to dig the Fix it Today mentality. Make it cheap, make it easy and bring down costs across the board. Again, its a non-stop record of how bad ad costs are and its slowly killing everyone. She thought we were onto something and is signing up with us today. Also found about some “stuff” that can be done as preventative maintenance for plumbing which will be a great suggestion in our reminders app.

So we got a 2nd appointment and it was the guy from yesterday. At first I was worried but in the end…I think its good. The experience was good enough to book a second service that was needed in a week. I tried calling him to get more info and some feedback but got a voicemail. Thats ok, sent him an email too. I hope I get the opportunity to see how the whole experience was. I think Im going to personally follow up with the first 100 – 200 appointments to try and get feedback. Also hope to see if I can’t get the customers to share on Facebook or something. We will see!
