Its amazing how when you’re a kid it feels like time moves so slowly. Summers off were so long. Now a days we blink and a week is gone. Thats the way this week sure did feel. Had an eventful week and its already over. Well, today I didn’t get much done. We took our son to see the Big Boy steam train while it was here in Fort Worth instead.
The little work I did do was putting out a small fire. When I setup Zoom for our phones, I didn’t get the memo about having to register our 10DLC to start texting. The employees got their inbound texts but cant send outbound text. There is a process that needs to be done and it takes a few days to get going. I feel like we may be better off just keeping Grasshopper to send text messages. We will see.
Our CRM got a couple bug fixes overnight. The reshuffling was only when we added follow up dates. Luckily our developers found it because I couldn’t recreate the issue. Still need to add filtering and somehow to highlight or move businesses from one screen to another. We will need some longer term thinking on this one to build a good system.
Last night I couldnt sleep. Didnt fall aslseep till close to 2am. Thats probably not late for a lot of people but we are up early with our son Clark. I was up at 6:00. I started thinking how we can bring more traffic to the site. SEO seems like the smartest long term way but my SEO company has their hands full needing to build 300 pages just for plumbing, hvac and electrical. How can I add another 700 pages on them and expect anything to get done. I’m thinking of shortcutting it. My SEO guy doesnt like AI, but there are a lot of low hanging fruits in our secondary services that we may be able to rank for organically pretty quick. We need to continue to work on domain authority and strong backlinks (SEO guy is doing this) but if we can add mediocre AI pages for “house cleaning Dallas” and “pest control Ft Worth” we may bring some traffic. Not a lot, but some traffic. All these low hanging fruits can add to some great traffic and build more trust for larger terms. I’d love to just use a programatic SEO approach but I’m not sure its the best idea. I’ll have to research what has happened to programatic sites since the updates.
