Well, today wasn’t that productive but I had a great day with my family. Spent time with just me and the son. Continued to research about our slight pivot and looking over possible partners in the future. Still stressed out about money but that is a normal thing.
So I’ll just say, if you haven’t ever played hide and seek with a 3 year old, its the absolute best. Kids this age are terrible at it, they tell you when you are not looking in the right place and love to play it over and over. Its an absolute blast and a great stress relief. The innocent “no” when you say aloud “are you under the blanket?” just makes you smile. It was a great way to spend part of the day and a huge source of happiness.
So today I connected with another founder of a software company that is also kind of parallel to us. They are a software based company focused on larger remodeling projects but I can definitely see a path forward working with him and both growing our businesses together. It would be an interesting setup as he focuses on the same exact niche but in a different context. We focus on small tasks while he focuses on large tasks that is difficult and requires multiple contractors to help. Worse comes to worse, I think we can just refer good contractors to each other.
Unfortunately LinkedIn continues to surprise me and I feel like this is a place I do need to spend time. I’m fortunate that these other founders have reached out to me. It’s my turn to do the same and start reaching out to others. Proptech companies seem to be a great partner to work with. Property managers seem to be a great partner to work with. And now I’m seeing someone in my own niche that can be a great partner. It’s an interesting world that I’m just finding in the last month, almost a year into our build. This is something I need to double down on.
