Developer meeting, getting stood up, electricians fixed the bizarre problem, got a new service provider….things are looking up.
Started the day with the normal developer meeting. Good news is the overlapping appointments on the Fix it Today calendar is good to go. We needed the easiest way for providers to add their own appointments and subtract their availability from our platform. Adding overlapping appointments was the easiest thing we could think of for the providers, but that means creating a prioritization system and then subtracting availability. This one had me nervous but hey… 4 days before the launch…it works.
So I was supposed to have a meeting with a provider at 9…he asked to push it to 10 and ultimately stood me up. Thats ok, maybe he forgot. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. Emailed him saying I’d be happy to talk in the future. Started spamming people on Facebook and low and behold it worked! This is actually the 2nd time. Spoke to another A/C company who said he was in. He said it was a great idea and only makes sense. He loves the fact we are trying to make attracting customers affordable again. I love hearing the service providers feel like there is hope.
So I scrambled to get to the warehouse because the electricians were already there. After opening up a few electrical panels, there was some bizarre wiring going on. They rewired it just to pull all of the power out of a single breaker panel. They were pulling two legs of 120v on a breaker from one panel and pulling the “high leg” 208v from another panel to make 3 phase up on the roof. Got it wired up nicely and the AC works!! After speaking to my dad, I think he has the right idea. The breaker that supplied the two 120v lines is probably toast or the two lines are melted together somewhere. This make the 120v from each side pass to the other making 440v on each leg on the roof. This is the only thing that possibly makes sense. Regardless, its fixed. Met some great guys along the ways though. Maybe it was meant to be. Filimon (electrician) will be joining Fix it Today!
Not sure if I spoke about Founders.inc or not but I had a meeting with my brother in law who is going to be my business partner. We are putting together a founders/entrepreneurs/c-suite community. People who understand what we go though, how hard it can be and can possibly add value to others. We had a first real meeting on putting together what we are going to do in our weekly meetings with founders. Since I had the idea, I have wanted something special to go to the Founders.inc members. Something old school, something that makes them feel like they belong. We will be sending out old school hand written letters on some super nice stationary. I want people to feel like they are joining something cool like a secret society and feel like they are a member of something special.
