Had a mix it things happen today from marketing meet, provider meeting, developer meeting…whats with all of these meetings? This is a whole new world. Setup some servers and overall feeing pretty good today.
Started the day with the dreaded developer meeting. We THINK that we can start with the bare minimum on Sept 1. We will see but we found common ground to be able to be up and running but on limp mode. Better than nothing but there is the possibility which is a great start.
Went to a meeting with some advertisers. They seem to be a fairly large advertising firm focused on local markets, which is sounding positive. They gave some free advice and showed some deficiencies such as having no Google Business Profile, and some of the old citations were for the old Fix It Today which was a car repair company from over a decade ago. They aren’t too expensive which is good but I think our expectations should be limited. They do love their Google ads but the folks today were very down to earth and up front saying its not in our best interest due to the high cost of ads not being a good return on ad spend.
Their advertising would focus more on brand awareness. Local citations, some retargeting ads that seem to be on the Google Ad Sense network if I had to guess. $1000 guaranteed 50k impressions. Not bad. They do Facebook ads too and it seems to be about a 30% “management fee” on ads. They do some local citations clean ups and a little other stuff. The good news about this company is they are corporate and have structure. It will be cookie cutter but a cookie cutter that works and can support our future growth.
Had a good meeting today with a local plumbing company. They contacted us from the emails (it works!) and were interested. It was a great chat and I realized how much these poor companies spend on advertising and how as a homeowner, we have something to bond about. I hate expensive prices, they have paying for ads and having homeowners paying more expensive bills. It was a great call and they look they will be joining Fix It Today.
Just finished up a call back from my sister doing some cold calls today. Solo plumber. He was a nice guy but wanted to see how the platform will shake out before he joins. Said its a great idea, but he just wants to make sure it is worth joining. I completely understand why some will have reservations on it. We will show him why its going to be the place to be.
