Well today I spent most of the day with the family, but my wife and I had some good discussion where and what we need to do with the business. Had an impromptu meeting with the developers to discuss API integration and property management setups. Looked at expanding in this new route and seeing how quick we can make it happen.
So developer meeting was quick but they were excited. Be able to onboard clients with multiple houses or units at once is a like a dream come true. Most of our API is already built as we use it ourselves for our app. When we do more of a public api, we will need to spend a lot of time and effort on securing the API as these can be weak points to the system. Overall though, we can get this up and going pretty quick. The backend developer said the outside softwares only need to hit 4-5 endpoints to get this take care of.
Money is getting really tight. This is super stressful but part of any new business. This is not our first time getting into a business and running low on money. We will find a way and power through. We are decreasing expenses where we can. We may end up decreasing or stopping Facebook ads for now and focus solely on commercial integrations with other proptech and property managers.
So I found a podcast host in the proptech space and thought to myself…he would be a great addition to our team. He has been in the space and already has lots of connections to proptech companies and can maybe get us integrated quickly. He was recommended by the local turnover company I spoke to yesterday. Send him a message on LInkedIn…we will see what happens. Luckily for me, I can just look through all of his companies he has interviewed and try and connect with these guys if they are in the right part of proptech for us to be a value to them.
So the integration. We can offer a lot of value to these companies by allowing them to offer service bookings directly from their app. What does it cost them? Almost nothing. They probably need a day’s worth of programming to call our API and display the info. It should be fairly quick and easy to integrate us and have a new feature not every software has. Best of all…its FREE. We will see what happens when we start reaching out. We need a little development on our end but I may reach out to get some feelers first.
