So Today was a day of planning. Not a lot of big work or changes, or anything like that. So Jason Cohen replied to a reply of mine saying I needed to just hire a marketing person because this isn’t anything I know about. He said I probably just needed to get something going and needed to learn just enough to get started. This made me think and finally today I put it on the table to really think about.
So, this sounds crazy but I went to ChatGPT to figure out what marketing really is. Im old and when I think of marketing, Im thinking of TV commercials, billboards, emails. These are more on the advertising side now that I think of. Well ChatGPT said I need to focus on online marketing (don’t doubt that) and generate social media content along with blog posts. As always, I wonder…how in the heck people will even find it. What do I post about? What platforms do I really need to post to. Man…this all seems like a hassle.
Well today I saw a post about some guy saying he got rid of his marketing team and went all AI. This sounds crazy but since we don’t have a team and ChatGPT (AI) knows a hell of a lot more about it than me, maybe this is a good starting point? I can afford SEVERAL tools compared to a single employee so I think we should give it a try. Where to start? Well, I started on Reddit to see what people are posting about. Knowing about all the SEO hacks, we have to be careful of Reddit responses because it’s filled with spam. Then I went to Youtube to see what apps people like (again, lots of spam with people pushing affiliate links) but found some useful information.
Lots of people using Make which seems like a nice little automation tool but I need content. I think this is the hardest hurdle for me. It looks like we can probably get a ton of ideas from ChatGPT and there is some halfway automation we can do on Canva to create ads or image/video creatives to post. All the tutorials using Make integrate ChatGPT and Dalle which I really dont like the image side. There is also an app that I came across that will make some creatives for you automatically that may be worth a try. I don’t know if actually automating all of this will work but maybe we can use make and some of these other apps to make content creation and posting super simple.
On another note, Linked In may be helping. I got a guy who reached out who is building a company in a similar field (parallel to us) that may be able to use Fix it Today. He looks like he is well connected and a smart guy who has had a successful career. He suggested we do a Zoom call which I was happy to oblige. Networking is another fall of mine and I just don’t know a ton of people. I can talk to people and be very sociable but I just haven’t put myself into the circumstances to actually meet people. Not building a Linked In and networking has shown to make this founder business very difficult. I think this may be an opportunity to get into the professional networking mode. Meeting him tomorrow.
