Well, another non-productive day for me. I never talk about the employees though and whats going on with the business, so we can do that. But for me, not a lot done.
So update about the work the employees have accomplished so far. For my calling crew, they have managed to get dozens of companies onboard. We are pushing 100 companies that have registered so far. In fact, they were doing so good, I had to get them to start working on the homeowner acquisition side. They are now cold calling some realtors and property management companies to hope to find some people to partner with. We are offering the referral system to them hoping that if their customers need our service, they will make money along the way. I’m really happy with all of their progress.
So now we need to figure out what to do. I’m starting to think maybe we should push into another city and see what happens. Find somewhere that may not be quite so competitive like it is here in DFW. Is that a good idea or a bad idea? I don’t think we will know until we test it.
Monday will start the days of trying to find investment money. I feel like there isn’t much that I can do to help grow the business outside of this. Im outside of my realm when it comes to marketing. I think getting some money in and possibly hiring a true professional can really help in this arena. Also hoping bringing on some investment money will give us access to people with more experience to help jumpstart the idea.
So lastly there is a very small thought of talking to big companies like Thumbtack and Airbnb. So if we talk to them I’d assume there is no interest in us outside of some cheaper acquisition. The idea is solid and we basically have our patent pending which is a huge help. Airbnb would be an interesting person to talk to because they have talked about expanding into home services which this would be an amazing way to get going. I’d love a partnership of some sort. It would be amazing to hand off some of the profits to get access to their database of homeowners or email lists or whatever. It could be mutually beneficial but I have a feeling they would just rather give us money and get us out of the way. Dunno.
