Well I’m really trying to search for some new ideas. We are still trying to get people to the site and it’s just not going as fast as I would have hoped. Again, refreshing to hear AirBnb was in the same place at one time. There is still hope. Just need to find creative ways to try to get more people to the site.
So finally the homeowner app is up and running on the app stores with the reminders section. Hopefully people will find it useful and be free so they download it. Going to start advertising it on Facebook. We will see if people like the quiz or if they will just go straight to the app store and download it. Speaking to my wife today, she really saw how bad people are about home maintenance. Heck, we can’t remember the last time that we changed our air filters. I need to go back to Amazon to see when I ordered the filters to know when I changed them. I can benefit from the app myself. She also had no idea how often you’re supposed drain or flush a water heater.
I don’t know if I have written about it before but I’d like to reach out to Matt Risinger to see if we can somehow partner up. He makes a series of home maintenance videos for his channel (I actually think these would be popular) and we will put all his content in our video for people to learn more. We can both benefit. He has over 1 million subscribers though not all the videos are a huge hit. I really believe things like home maintenance are super helpful and not just for people like me who love construction. We will see if that may be able to work out. I have an email from Matt in 2013 where he graciously responded to my email looking for a bit of advice when we remodeled our home years ago. I’m hoping this is still a good email and will be a bit of a conversation starter being its from 11 years ago.
The digital billboard thing is starting to seem like a better idea. I wish we would have gotten our act together a week or two ago because we missed the Cowboys game last weekend and the next one isnt for a month here in DFW. Also, tomorrow is the Tyson/Paul fight here in DFW. That will also be a large opportunity but we don’t have any creatives ready for anything like that. I just need to reach out and talk to them.
