Oct 1, 2024 – Feeling a Little Down

Well, we just aren’t growing like I’d hope. We really need to find a better way to generate some homeowners coming to our platform. I have been thinking and thinking and have a few ideas. Also feeling like I’m on my own. I’m hopeful things will change and my partners will help me more but I’m starting to have regrets.

So I spent a lot of time working on different ideas. We are going to try a few different things. Step 1 is we are going to try and hire people in our area that want to make a little side money. We are looking for people to recommend Fix it Today when people are actively searching for recommendations on Nextdoor. Again, the problem I think we are having is getting in front of people when they need a service. By paying people to suggest us when people are looking for help, it may work. My goal is to pay people $100/month for 30 posts in 30 days. If people actively use Nextdoor already, it will literally take them a few seconds per day. I think thats a good trade off. Each week they will turn in 7 screenshots and get $25. If we can get 20-30 people posting regularly on all the different areas of DFW on Nextdoor we can hopefully drum up some business.

Next thought is to hire a VA that will troll Nextoor and Facebook groups and continually suggest Fix it Today when people look for recommendations. There are some “technical” challenges with this but I believe they can be overcome using mobile proxies. Time will tell if this is a worthwhile method or not. Trying not to get banned from everywhere will be the key.

Another place to try is Craigslist. Yep, they are still around and still have a ton of traffic. According to SEMRush they get 65 million views a month. Looking in the services pages, people are posting all day long. I guess we will need to start posting all day long. Will this be worth the time? I dunno but it only takes a bit of time to do each day.

Last but not least is paying homeowners to use our service. I cant remember if I wrote about this but we are going to run some ads saying “Test out Fix it Today and get $20.” If they need work done anyways, might as well make the $20. Will this work, I dunno. I think it will if someone already needs the service. Worse comes to worse we get a bunch of clicks to our website.

Oh…the referral program. We are going to run an ad for that one too. We will pay people $10 to anyone that gets us business. So simply posting it on Facebook or Nextdoor will set them up for a possible $10 referral bonus anytime someone uses our service. The great thing about referrals is you dont put any money out of pocket. Business comes in before you put money out. I pray this will work.
