So each Sunday I write an email to our current providers to let them know how thigns are going. Its going slow. Slower than I would like but slow progress forward. So today I started thinking on how we can do this. Ads are working, so it seems…well, we are getting views/clicks but not much for conversion. Well, maybe there is some potential conversion but not at the time….home issues only come up every once in a while.
So the need is to find people who are in need of service at the time. Google is the best place for this but then we compete with all of the service providers who are paying crazy amounts of money for their ads. Here in DFW, its $40-100 per click!! Per CLICK!! So, there has to be a different way. Well, it seems like Nextdoor is nothing but people asking for referrals so maybe that is a way to get some business. I need to run some ads and give it a test. Looking at their methods, its a few hundred bucks a month. Its cheap but its just impressions. We will have to see how it works.
So we had discussed doing EDDM mailers or something similar but like most people….I throw them away. But I do look at them…sometimes. I had this epiphany that maybe we should try door hangers. So why door hangers? Well, its not mixed in with everything else. Next, you have to deal with it. Its on your door and eventually you want it to go away so you need to take it off the door. This is a better opportunity to reach a homeowner than a mailer. Now the cost is about 25% more. Its about $.50/unit if you do 5,000. Now I live in a small city of Keller. 5,000 is not even enough to cover the homes in my town much less the even DFW metroplex. If we were to do 100,000 door hangers its $30k. The cost is cheaper than Facebook ads per…but will there be the same or possible same conversion? I dunno.
