Sept 5, 2024 – SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, lets just get it out there from the beginning. Real world test of Fix it Today was a complete success. We haven’t technically launched yet but the app is in the app store, the providers who have registered so far are close to ready to start on Monday. Except Cold Front Mechanical. My new favorite company. For the last few days, they have been putting in availability. I was going to book an appointment as a test for myself and see how it works out…but guess what? I don’t have to!

So my business partners had water leaking from their HVAC unit and there was a water spot on the ceiling. Never a good sign. Well, since the trailblazer, Cold Front Mechanical, signed up and had availability set, they got themselves an appointment! 4 days from launch, we got a real appointment that was needed. I can’t tell you how great the feeling is that not only that this worked but it was actually needed. My developers will be thrilled to hear it tomorrow.

I don’t feel like I got a ton of work done today. Im running on empty these days. I got access into all of the provider accounts which is a huge help but was a little let down to see how many half signed up companies there were. Tomorrow will be nagging them to complete their profiles. At least I have a little dry powder to tell them we have already scheduled our first appointment. We have a couple other friends that need stuff done as well so lets get it done.

Venture capital…..are we worthy? Is it a good idea? I have been thinking about this more and the more I read on stinking Reddit the more I rock back and forth on the idea. We have basically all of our savings put into this business and we are just a few days from launch. Our hardest part is the cold calling but hopefully it will go better next week once there is something tangible to actually see how it works. I think an infusion of outside money can really help excel us by allowing for a small 2-3 staff of full time cold callers as well as a large portion going to ads. We still haven’t tested out the pay people to share method, but ads are not cheap. I think we will spend a lot on the pay people to share method but I feel it will likely have better results. A cash infusion may allow me to quit my full time nursing job as well. There is so much to consider about trying to approach VC or if its even the right move. Maybe an angel investor would suffice? Having money in the bank sure would make a lot of the stress go away but giving up equity on the other hand is never fun. Fix it Today has a ton of potential and we just need to show the world. Will money fix that? Let me know.
